So yesterday I spent some time in the emergency department getting my ankle x-rayed, and then to have them tell me that my foot isn't broken, it's actually just severely sprained...minor tears in my ligaments or some such, which is actually worse than a break because of the painful arduous healing process... but the benefit of all of that?

Did you see last nights episode of Grey's Anatomy? It was amazing. It was unprecedented. And by that I mean NOTHING happened. Except that I'm starting to hate Christina/Burke. Wow, I never thought that was possible. I'm crossing my fingers that Shonda Rhimes, show creator, will be able to pull the show out of this valley of nothingness. I've considered briefly that it could be all me, because 3 of my shows (Grey's, Gilmore, and Lost) all seem to be in the vapid land-of-nothing-happens. I need action, I need drama, I need emotional angst, I need making out. Where is the making out? Seriously.

But there is one show that is slowly climbing up from better than good, to great! Oh, Veronica Mars how you never cease to disappoint me. Tuesday's episode was superb. It marked the return of Cliff, oh how I didn't know I missed you until you had returned and my cheeks were hurting from the laughter.

This episode had some of the things I'd been missing in the first few, like: Logan/Weevil interaction? Check, Jose Lunchpail!

Wallace? Check, but oh sweet moral compass where have you gone to?

And a mystery that was personal to Veronica? Check, Lilly lilly still causing tension and dissension even from the grave.

The episode gets and A in my book. And based on the opening scene for next week, I may be giving that episode an A+ if all my hopes come to fruition.

Part of why I love the three shows that I love (read: obsess over) is because the lines are so quotable and this paragraph that I created is from some of my favorites. It probably only makes me laugh until I cry, and nobody else...but just in case I'll share it with you all... (not that anyone is still reading after I stop posting for a month). LOTS AND LOTS OF SHOW SPOILERS AHEAD. Spoiler phobes better just leave now. There are quite a few interesting tidbits I learned from speaking with Benji, and some good pictures. I have tons more, but currently photobucket is down for maintenance. I'll make a new post when they are all uploaded and ready... as well as videos.

This was a day of fangirly explosion... EXPLOSION! There were E's and Squee's flying every which way.... so here is the story with pictures, that mostly suck, but sometimes don't. And the story is long. Hey, they don't call me loquacious for nothing.

We'll start with a favorite photo, but oddly not a favorite dance (in spite of the squeels all around me trying to convince me that this truly was the most amazing thing ever)... I mean, it must be iintensely difficult to lay on a bench and run your hand over it... really now, sorry does that sound bitter?

Heh, I like sunflowers if that helps any and I'm sure the moment in this picture is exceedingly difficult, but we're losing track of the point... which is... right BENJI!

Hey, but that's not Benji.... no, no it isn't, but he sure smelled nice all rubbing up against me. What? he smelled nice. Back to Benji.

He's pretty, are you happy? I hope so.

The show itself was awesome. High energy, great numbers and these people are all so freakin’ beautiful it is unreal. I mean the muscle tone sort of gets diminished by stage and tv lights, but in person they are ripped. The ladies legs are just unbelievable. All of those girls could beat me up and I’m 5 inches taller than most of them.

I personally felt like they didnt showcase Benji as the winner really, beyond him going last… they didn’t even mention he was the winner until midway through the first half. I thought he should have gotten two solos, heck I would have watched an all Benji show (with partners of his choosing, or not...either way, I'd be there)…so there can never be too much Benji in my world, and there is usually too little. He did get to MC a lot, and he was the best of the bunch. Very natural. Some of them *ryancoughryan* did not seem all that comfortable with a mic in their hand. This was a very evenly spilt Benji/Travis fan base here. Lots of teens for Travis and Benji. Benji got an organic standing O for his solo. Travis’ solo was a bit meh for me, did a little too much air humping for my taste. Especially knowing he likes the male gender more, which is totally cool, but a shame for the cute little girl behind me who’s convinced that Travis is her future husband…”if only they could just meet.”

Benji did a fanstastic, so-bad-it was-good Derek Zoolander impression after sexy back. Damn batteries just had to go and die right before that. Of course I brought ample replacements, but I was switching as he was pulling faces and making me laugh. It was quite hysterical. This was funny too (vid from the show, so don't watch if you don't want to be spoilered):

But the best part came after the show. Initially I traveled to the show with my mother, her friend and her daughter. Two of those people had to be up early for work and or school, so I wasn’t initially planning to stay and try to catch the buses. But after reading about some of the personal time that folks got at the buses and I just know that after our boy hits the silver screen he won’t have time for the small time autograph signings and hugs (yes, hugs!!!!!).

So to the buses I went, but my mom and et al… they left me. Thank God for mass transit. So first I get out there, and I think I need to say; I’m no fan of pushy teenage fans of one Travis (heh, Trav so much for Benji having the tweens and teens market cornered because the squealy screams weren’t coming from this 23 year old… yikes).

This is the closest we're going to get to a Trapril or a Apavis, or er... see it doesn't really work... oh well.

I was front and center on the railing when it all started and by some act of God, or a 15 year old girl with too much makeup on and a metal purse, I wound up three people back from the front. Don’t worry it’s all good. All good things come to those who wait, and I waited very patiently. I did get Travis’ autograph (woohoo, no seriously… he was phenomenal…if just a little too, hmm something for my taste. But very talented), as well as Ivan, Allison, Heidi, Donyelle and of course Benji’s!

Allison is absolutely gorgeous... especially next to my washed out cabbage patch head:

So the story continues. He finally comes out, not last, but nearly. He is all smiles and winks in his grey/brown sweat/pant things and a very appropriate “fashion victim” hat. I love that boy. Oh and and I <3 carbs wristband. Sweet. He needs to eat more carbs, gorgeous as he is. He is truly amazing.

He took time with all of the fans, and all of the hands that seemed unattached to bodies as they reached out for him to sign things. As a Clay fan, and I know it’s different and I appreciate what Clay does do for us, I’m so use to Clay walking by so quickly and grabbing hands and then being gone. Benji stuck around and just chatted once the crowds had chilled. That is where the tidbits part of my story comes in.... but first, an AprilJoy picture interlude... featureing Heidi and Benji!

Obviously no Celine, he confirmed that. He also confirmed two movies, two Disney movies is what he said. He also said something about producing a movie… not sure if it was separate from the two Disney ones…I’d assume. He also mentioned a sitcom on CBS next fall perhaps… or maybe as early as the new year. That got me squeeing. He said Broadway would be a couple years away, with the other projects in on his list…I can understand why that is.

He was cute about his hair too. Said he did the blonde because after they died it black…turned out it was very hard to see from off stage, so they suggested he throw something in there… those were his words. So he went with the blonde. He asked if we liked it and of course I said yes. Guess I made up my mind on that one. But it’s seriously sexy in person. He was totally cute, said that he has brown hair spray stuff to cover up the blonde when he goes to church. I don’t know why that made me giggle like a little girl.

Donyelle is so tiny in person. Seriously! I don’t know what they did to her on TV because she looks all regular size and small to me. I couldn’t get over how gorgeous she looked, and told her so. She was really adorable and appreciative. They all were.

Oh yeah, and Benji said hello to my mom over the cellphone and some other stuff…I was too busy dieing to actually remember what he said. He also hugged me and touched my hand. And we were cheek to cheek. Basically this was what I’d call a close encounter of the Benji-kind.

Oh, and a fan asked about he and Donny… of course he said they were just friends… cause they are and that she had a boyfriend.. and he said “I’m still definitely single” was he looking right at me when he said that? Must have just been my wild imagination. I'm exhausted. It's 3am. There are probably typos galore in here, but give me a break... I just met Benji!

Oh yeah, and I've got a recorded message for the now famous Vixen. It was a video, but it's so pitch dark you can only make out his face a little bit. I'm working on seeing if I can't lighten the video up a bit, but I think that will be a chore for tomorrow.

EDIT: I was about to go to bed when I remembered funny stuff.
He and Martha did this crazy bouncy dance things in unison, I don't know what it was... but my camera wasn't prepared to film it and I asked them to do it again, they thought that was hilarious... I mean rolling on the floor funny. I don't know why, and they didn't do a repeat performance. There was this one girl, cute blonde, talking to him and she was saying something and she threw in that she was "Temple ready" or something... basically meaning, Benji could marry her in the temple or whatever... oh wow, he laughed until he almost fell onto the pavement. It was adorable. I think he finds his fans either crazy or hilarious... perhaps both.

and the thing is, I couldn't figure out why. I kept changing the channel between that Beaches, and some friends rerun, but I kept being drawn back to the Fantasia story. It wasn't even that good, a little too much sap, and too much of her grating nasaly vocals (apologies to any fans). Anyway, this morning I discovered why I was drawn to it. BENJI WATCHED IT! Last night Benji and I were watching the same program on TV at the same time! As ridiculous as it sounds, that gave me the giggles. It also helps explain why I felt drawn to watching that show. Benji Schwimmer, 22, is the winner of So You Think You Can Dance, Season 2. Here's what the swing dancer from Redlands, CA had to say about how his life has changed overnight.

How does it feel to be the winner of So You Think You Can Dance?
It feels amazing. It feels like my life just flipped upside down completely right now. I'm getting offers left and right. People are recognizing me. I haven't slept in three days.It has been an experience.

What were you doing before the show came about?
I was teaching dance and competing in swing. That's what I do for a living. I teach at my parents' dance studio. It was a fun little gig to do. It was a blast. I'm still going to plan to continue doing that on the side as well. But my career has been blowing up and I have to try to get as much exposure as I possibly can. Strike while the iron is hot!
Of course! On Regis and Kelly Friday morning, you mentioned something about a role in a movie.
I've just recently been cast. Actually, the day that I was announced the winner of the show, I was cast as Fred Astaire in a movie about his life that is coming up, so I'm really excited about that.

Is it a television movie or will it be on the big screen?
I have no idea yet, to be honest with you. From what I hear, it's going to be a motion picture, so whether it's a TV movie or on the big screen, it really doesn't matter to me. It will just be an honor to fill those shoes of one of the best dancers of our time.

You're from a dancing family. How many of you dance?
Everyone dances in my family. My grandfather was a swing dancer. My father was a swing dancer. My mom is a dancer...my sister is. They're all champions in their own right. This has just been a mutual thing. It's not just me winning this title, it's everyone in my family who paved a path for me and helped support me.

So, it didn't get even a little bit competitive with your cousin Heidi (who was also a finalist) toward the end?
Competitive with my cousin? Not at all! In fact, it was the complete opposite. We just helped each other as much as we possibly can...if I would have gotten second or third and she got first, I would have been ecstatic crying.

Growing up, what did the other boys at school think of the fact that you were a dancer?
I was made fun of quite a bit growing up. It has always been something that I've had to deal with quite a bit. There were a lot of stigmas about being a male dancer that I had to overcome. It's just like don't believe what you hear sometimes. I was made fun of all my life -- especially in Junior High or High School. I mean, look who's laughing now.

Exactly! Now, you will get the opportunity to dance in Celine Dion's show. Have you seen the show?
I have seen parts of it. I had the opportunity to sneak backstage when the show had already finished. I sat down on that stage wondering, thinking, "Gosh, I wonder if I could ever be a part of something like this." It was an amazing experience. I never thought I'd ever be actually on that stage performing. [April here:that must be unreal for him then, okay he can dance on the show, he should dance on the show.]

A lot of girls are going crazy for you now. What are you looking for in a girl? Actually, are you even looking for a girlfriend?
You know what? In this moment, probably not. I need to get more settled in my career. I will be on the road in the next three months doing my tour with the show. It will be difficult to do the whole long distance thing. So, as soon as I have my feet more settled and know exactly what I'm going to do...whether I'm going to do Celine, or even a sitcom that I've been offered, or Broadway, which I've also been offered. But either way, I have to be settled first and then I'll start searching for a wife.

Does she have to know how to dance?
No. As long as she has a passion...

Do you have anything you want to say to the people who voted for you?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. If I ever see you in the streets, stop me. I'll give you a big hug...I also want people to know that the prize money won't be taken in vain. It will be used for a good cause. I have a charity that I am going to start for underprivileged children in Mexico...So thank you, thank you, thank you.

New TV Guide article and interview! Benji Shows Why He's Your Favorite Dancer

In the article he talks a little more about his pre-dance heartbreak, getting odd offers, and a couple of sitcom offers (oh please, oh please Benji on Teevee every week!), and going down to Vegas to watch Celine's show.

The parts kind of got to me:

TVGuide.com: Do you think that acting experience helped you become such an entertaining dancer?
Benji: The best way to look at entertaining is to be yourself and to magnify whatever positive energy you have so that 300 people can feel it. I dance from the heart — I don't plan faces, I don't plan winks. I just go with what I feel.

TVGuide.com: It's hard to tell that you've ever been depressed!
Benji: I've always been depressed [but] with a smile. It's not a fake smile, but there are just those moments when you get home and after you're done dancing you think, "Gosh, it'd be nice to have a girlfriend right now."

First, he made a lot more than 300 people feel it, I felt it across the miles. He just has that affect. And second, I will be his girlfriend. He just needs to call me.

Exclusive Interview with Give Me My Remote

Benji confirms he will be playing THE LEAD ROLE in an upcoming movie about Fred Astaire. I know we've heard this, but I'm glad to hear him say it will the LEAD. I'm so freakin' excited about this.

Two new blogs this morning. Apparently his friends list is growing like crazy, last check 9826, awesome!The blogs are hilarious, I had to read them like five times. They involve what I mentioned above. Plus, sad, they lost his luggage and all his pretty ties. I hope they find it. Also, I hope the pictures of him with the supernova belly dancers and unzipped fly surface as well. When I find them, this blog will be the first place I'll share them. He also confirmed that he would be on the Teen Choice Awards tonight! So be there or be square.

And, I don't know if I just never noticed this before but in his pictures he captioned the picture of him and Donyelle with this: "she's the jenny to my forest...if anyone gets that then you're coolio."

On a side note, I just wanted to thank everyone again for their support and continued support from here on. I wanted everyone to know that Hollywood hasn't gone to my head nor has it gone to any of the top 20 dancers. We love and appreciate all of you and its my desire that you all be patient. Things are insane right now...I just got home for the first time in 3 months...and i slept in my own bed (first sleep ive gotten in 3 days since they announced the winner)...so its been cool but very tiring! Because two weeks ago, I didn't know anything about the fan labeled LoVe, or as I know them Logan and Veronica. Because no one writes songs about the ones that come easy. Because epic love is a beautiful thing. Because one day I hope he buys her that pony. Because they're perfect together in all the wrong ways. Because if you don't know that Logan and Veronica belong together, you need to get with it. Because he's gorgeous in that arrogant psychotic jackass kind of way. Because they are even more gorgeous together.... Because just... gah.

Choreographer Shane Sparks said, "Benji's the man, and he went through a lot in his life. He loves this a lot and will be dancing until he dies. Benji won this competition in the middle of the show; it was just a matter of going through the process." - Okay, so Shane Sparks choreographed the Tranji, so he got love for that, but he gets so much LOVE for this comment. Ah, the sweet smell of victory.

Benji only has a week of rest before going on tour with his fellow dancers, but he's ready for it. "The tour's going to be amazing, and I have gotten a lot of crazy offers," he said. "Celine and I are going to talk and se' what happens. There's talks of me doing a swing dance with her. I got a couple movie offers, three of four from Broadway 'Wicked' and 'Hairspray' are talking to me, which is hardcore - and an offer from 'MADtv,' so I'm keeping my lines open right now and we'll see what fish bites the hardest."
